# Repair MATLAB before porting affected behavior

Working MATLAB behavior remains the reference for the one-to-one C++/SymEngine port. When a MATLAB branch is broken or ambiguous, repair it and add a MATLAB characterization test before implementing that behavior in C++; the corrected MATLAB result then becomes the parity oracle.

Current graph-based QFA and the older Seeman implementation/performance workflow remain separate modules and schemas. C++ uses typed internal structures with compatibility adapters for valid MATLAB names, arguments, fields, and substitution behavior. The first supported QFA scope is validated two-phase operation; interfaces may represent more phases, but execution with more than two phases remains explicitly unsupported until MATLAB behavior is defined and tested.
